Gala opening of the largest battery storage system in the Czech Republic
The largest Czech battery storage system in the Czech Republic was introduced in C-Energy on Friday 20th September 2019. The output of the system is 4MW and its capacity is 2.5 MWh. It is believed to bring a number of functions for C-Energy including increased flexibility of the existing generators. The event was attended by Karel Havlíček, Czech Minister of Industry and Trade, Stanislav Trávníček, the Chairman of the Energy Regulatory Office Board, Tomáš Hünner, Manager of Siemens Smart Infrastracture, Jan Fousek, Executive Manager of the Association for Accumulation and Batteries and a number of other guests.

Construction of a small plant to eliminate plastic waste
The companies of C-Energy Planá and EVECO Brno have launched the construction of an EVECONT pilot unit. It is a plant that utilizes unusable plastic waste in an environmentally friendly way. The plant is installed in a container. EVECONT is a small device for energy production from waste which is based on the most modern burning technologies. Production of heat from this unit will be more ecological than when coal is burned and in Planá nad Lužnicí the unit will help to reduce emissions by more than 13 thousand kilograms a year.

The implementatiopn of the project of hot water pipeline to Tábor has been launched. Metrostav, the contractor, replaces pipes on the premises of the Kovosvit MAS company. The company plans to start digging and laying pipes in the Nad Lužnicí housing estate during September. At the beginning of August the photovoltaic power plant was put into operation. Electricity produced in the power plant will be supplied either in the distribution networks or accummulated in the battery that is about to be put into operation on the C-Energy premises. The Teplovod Planá project has been almost completed. Final asphalt layers are to be lain in Strkovská Street during the 34th week of 2019. Heat supplies to customers in Planá nad Lužnicí will start in September.

During the second week of July the tender for the costruction of a hot water pipeline to Tábor was completed and a contract for work was signed. The winning contractor, the Metrostav a.s. company will lay hot water pipeline from the Kovosvit premises in Sezimovo Ústí all the way to the Nad Lužnicí housing estate during the second half of 2019. Next year the constrction will continue towards the Ústecké suburb. The largest electricity accumulator in the Czech Republic whose output is 4 MW is being installed on the C-Energy premises. The electricity accumulation system will increase the flexibility of the existing power sources and also accumulate electricity produced in the photovoltaic plant.

C-Energy is rightly proud of very low fluctuation of employees. This is very good for the company especially with regards to the fact that the production equipment in the plant is very varied and complicated and therefore the required training time is long. Some colleagues spend literally all their life with the company. Our colleague Bohouš Loudín celebrated 50th anniversary of his employment in the Planá heating/power plant. Fifty years ago, on 17th June 1969, he started a summer job in the heating plant, he remained with the company as an apprentice, went through several job positions in the course of years and has remained till today. We had a special cake made for him to celebrate this unique anniversary. Beside ordinary summer operation and regular maintenance the company staff have been busy implementing a number of development projects.

Due to cold weather during the first half of May we continued heat supplies. The construction of the heating plant to Planá nad Lužnicí continues along Strkovská Street. We are sure that the traffic problems and drivers´ discomfort will be compensated by cleaner environment in Strkov neighbourhood after the ELK company puts its local heating device out of operation. We would like to thank all drivers and pedestrians for their patience.

Beside ordinary winter operation of the plant, several major development projects keep C-Energy staff busy at the beginning of 2019. Heating pipeline to Planá nad Lužnicí - pipes have been lain in Planá nad Lužnicí, specifically along the row of houses in Nová Street and along the railway behind the train station. Photovoltaic power plant and accummulation battery - landscaping works have been performed by the Bartoň DM s.r.o. company on the plotwhere photovoltaic panels are to be installed. The construction of a concrete base on which the battery container will be placed will start soon. Gas engines no. 5 and 6 - construction works were launched at the end of January (see the picture). At the end of February the construction of the lower portion of the engine house is planned to start. Two engines of 11.5 MW each have been produced in the Rolls Royce plant in Bergen, Norway. These engines will enable C-Energy to extend the range of services the company can provide in the field of electricity supplies.
